For me, the three keywords might be borderless, radical and colorful. These three words works as a compass, guiding every sonic experiment I make.
When I’m creating or discovering sound works, I want my creations to have no boundaries. To be borderless is to weaken limitations, whether physical, cultural, or conceptual. It is about embracing fluidity and erasing divisions that hinder understanding or creativity. A borderless approach encourages exploration without constraints, inviting collaboration and openness.
Radical is about pursuing ideas that disrupt the norm and create space for revolutionary ideas. Being radical means embracing boldness and authenticity, even in the face of resistance. It requires the courage to deconstruct existing sound structures. It requires me to use more experimental ways to create more extreme sound that challenge the listener’s expectations. It forces me to step outside the traditional structure of music compositions and explore more unpredictable elements.
And colorful represents a celebration of vibrancy, diversity, and life. It is about infusing experiences with energy, creativity, and dynamic expression. To be colorful is to see beauty in variety and to cultivate an aesthetic that speaks to joy, richness, and inclusivity. When I play with modular synthesizers, this color is revealed by the uncontrollable and unpredictable control voltages passing through the patch cables.
