I’m for a sound art

As an sound artist, I am thrilled to work in an industry related to underground music or sound art. My focus will be on experimental music, doing sound installations, and collaborating with artists in other mediums. London has an underground music culture scene that’s different from where I’m from. During my study abroad period, I would like to experience different music scenes in Europe at the same time, and maybe it will inspire my compositions and ideas in a different way.

After going through sound studies, I would prefer to be an independent artist or underground music producer. I would like to play in different underground clubs and collaborate to some extent with other visual and sound artists. But the truth is, I still need to think about financial matters, so working in some studios or companies as a main job while creating my own work is also a good option. The advantage is that I can secure my financial situation but at the same time creating my own work. The challenge I need to face is balancing my time between these two works. In my country, experimental music or visuals are not very recognized by the public, it’s an extremely niche market, and the job market is not very good either. So, I needed to do some internship during my university studies to gain enough experience to get ready to enter market. The threats I need to consider are a poor employment environment and whether my work will be recognized by others.
