The event we’ve done was experiencing the work of Graeme Miller’s work “LINKED”. We put on the headphones and a signal capture device to listen to the recordings he’ve took for the past years.
For me, it was a really meaningful and touched project. This work took him many years to record these sounds and hide the signals in different buildings. As we walk along the route, we experienced how people live and got along in the past ages. The work reminds me how sound could used as a medium for recording history.
Having this experience has refreshed my knowledge of creating with sound. The thing I can learned from this work is that, the work don’t have to be seen or concrete. Let the audience engaging into the work and let them feel the temperature and emotion behind the work is also a good entry point.
